Anti-aging activity of SYN-AKE peptide by in silico approaches and in vitro tests
In silico (computer modeling) and in vitro (lab dish) analysis showed that the Syn-Ake peptide bound stably to MMP-13 and SIRT1 receptors (MMP-13 is an enzyme that breaks down cartilage and skin structure; SIRT1 is a protein linked to cell aging defenses). It showed antioxidant activity, with concentration-dependent DPPH radical scavenging (it neutralized more free radicals at higher concentrations in a standard lab test). The peptide proved non-cytotoxic (not toxic to cells).
